difference between 5.9 HO and standard

Hello just wondering what the difference is, there is a big price difference and im wondering why.
And how would tell if it is a HO or not, vin?
oh im talking about 2003-2004 models

Only the pre-600 engines had an "SO" engine. As far as I know, the only difference was fueling to make power.

The 02 and earlier engines actually had differences: the HOs had higher injection pressure, more compression, etc...

Whats the difference in hp torque numbers?
is there anything else different?

Larry,
Mine's got 250 hp, 460 TQ. I think the California SO's have 235hp and I have no idea on the torque.
I love mine, that being said, I'm gonna get a box (Edge, TST CR) next year after I've broken it in a bit. Got the Line-x and the Nasta SS Bars, next is the x-monitor.

give me your engine serial number and I can look it up , there are two kinds of piston cooling nozzle available , one is the plastic type in the main bearing saddle , and the metal ones that are in the oil rail of the block. which the 600 do have .

2002 high output engines were rated at 245 horse and 505 torque.
