If most truck stops are like the ones around here, the diesel at the Tractor-Trailer pumps is usually 2 cents higher per gallon, unless you pay with cash only. So if you plan on using a debit or credit card, make sure you check what their policy is first.

Hello everyone, just got back from some time at the beach, haven't had a chance to check the thread lately. One other thing to keep in mind about the retail/big rig dispensers. Both come from the same tank. So just because you don't pump much from the retail side compared to the big rig side doesn't mean the diesel is any less fresh. I basically only have 2 tanks at my site. One diesel tank, around 15,000 gallons, and another tank with a split in it so it has a 13,000 gallon unleaded regular capacity and about 6200 gallon super capacity. Plus is mixed at the dispenser at 60% regular, 40% super. That is pretty much par for the course. Another thing about the ratings on these filters, the micron ratings I gave you are NOMINAL, not absolute, so it is rather obvious how important it is to keep a good (Fleetguard or equivalent) fuel filter on your truck. Also, my tank monitor lists separately water volume and temperature. As of this date I still have no water at all in my tanks, but normally you will have an inch or so due to condensation. The fuel delivered to me is generally 4 or 5 degrees warmer than the fuel in my tanks. Sorry for the long post, but one last thing: Retail diesel sales (Thanks diesel pickup owners!) has really climbed, I would say that on the outside even fairly slow stations turn over diesel every couple weeks. Not a huge difference. Not all fuel dispenser filters are created equal, I change mine myself, and buy only Cim-Tek filters. Some people just pay somebody to change them, and they get cheap filters. Good evening all,<br> I just had my lift pump replaced last Saturday, at 90,000 miles. I was one who purchased my filters through Autozone, Mobil 1 synthetic oil filter and their house brand fuel filter. When I told this to my mechanic, he went over to his computer and printed out a bulletin from Dodge about using fuel filters other than those from Cummins. Seems they do not filter down small enough, and with the tolerances in the VP44 I/P, filtration is a life saver. No more cheap fuel filters for me.<br><br>Just some food for thought.<br><br>Tiny
