Diesel Power Magazine

Has anyone read the new magazine yet? I really got a kick out "This engine proved to be every bit the success that Ford and Navistar envisioned it being; and with that, they sent the old 7.3L engine to the bench, while the newly designed Power Stroke has become Ford's go-to powerhouse player."

I just about fell out of my chair I was laughing so hard at such a bogus statement.

i myself really liked the tech article on the buildup of a GM 6.2 diesel.

they spent $4500 and got a woppin 188hp out of it.

hopefully the magazine is still in the learn process and will get better.

NOT with Ford and Banks pumping megabucks into it for advertising...

It's their own little promotion magazine.

I'm subscribed for '06, we'll wait to see if renewal is worth it.

I subscribed to it, but I do agree that its got WAY too much Banks advertising and Ford related stuff. Thats what we get for the magazine's former editor being a Powerstroke guy. Whats even worse is the fact that the new editor, David Kennedy, is a big time Duramax fan.

wel how do u think i feel reading that new mag....i have a 12 valve ...i get NOTHING out of that mag....i dont need a mag to show me how to put a couple wires and plugs together(modules/chips)....they seriously need a mechanical section for older diesel trucks.....what...they thought no one keeps their diesel over 20k miles anymore ( like the 6.0)?? ...but at least there is a mag...but ford owns it kinda like bud light owns baseball (**** it i wanted anything BUT a bud light at a game this summer but thats all they had )

Most of the ads are for exhaust as well. How many times can we see the same exhaust system? Not much coverage from the big diesel events either. Hello IRP was packed and just about 4 pics on the event.

You never see an article in those mags about BHAFs, tone wheel mods, Donaldson mufflers or.... lift pumps other than FASS.

Why ? no revenue from advertisers.

The mags aren't concerned about helping you keep your truck running. They want you to buy stuff <you don't always need>.

Follow the paper trail.

They may send their paperwork for free, but it was the PHONE call that you made to Banks that will cost you.
