Filled up last Friday for $1.77 here in Vegas. Smith's just opened up a station on the North side of town, that gives you a discount based on your grocery shopping. Bought my normal groceries and got a $.15 discount per gallon from their $1.92 price.

Diesel has been higher - by up to 15 cents a gallon - than unleaded for quite a while around here. Unleaded had gone up in the past few days to close the gap a bit: I paid $1.89 for diesel yesterday, and unleaded was $1.83.

Txhawg,

I live in Watauga and get fuel on Denton Hwy, anywhere from Loop820 up to Keller you will find $1.75 gal. The further from an Interstate the better. I heard it is even a few cents cheaper in Saginaw.

I paid $1.959 today for Shell Premium diesel. I don't have a clue what they use for an additive to qualify for the Premium label but it does seem to run a little quieter and idle a tad smoother with it compared to the less expensive $1.899 stuff. Florida is still running on the 15c tax break for gas (not diesel) until Tuesday. We'll have to fill up the Durango Sunday before it goes back to $2+ a gallon...
Apperently, the price of gas is enough to cause people to complain but not enough to slow people down. I run 70-72 on the interstate and I'm still being passed like I'm poking along. Folks around town still drag-race from every light and it's a contest to see who can get to the front of the line at the next light. Don't get me wrong. I love speed. The feeling of a hard acceleration is one of my favorite things. I still nail the loud peddle now and then. The price makes me grumble but it hasn't made serious changes to my driving habits yet. But it's getting close.

Today is the first time I've filled up when diesel cost more than regular gas, $1.77 vs $1.74, Flying J, Walton KY.. This summer diesel has been as much as $.30 cheaper than gas. I think the refineries are starting to put out home heating oil for the winter, pretty similar to diesel.

If you Yankees would switch to natural gas us Rebels wouldn't see our fuel prices go up so much

Biodiesel price in Phoenix

I only run about 10 % biodiesel because it is $ 3.21 a gallon here in the valley of the sun. There is supposed to be a biodiesel plant being built in the area but I can only hope it drops the price.

Pray for a warm winter! I would say what diesel is here, but we don't need you left coast guys over here driving up our fuel costs! Seriously, I paid 169.9 yesterday. I think that was about 10 cents less than regular, but you have to get off the I and look around. Small convenience stores here are cheaper than the truck stops.

How much of that is tax?

The reason we complain is that the fuel companies are making record profits by "creating" reasons for higher prices. I don't have a problem with them making a profit - that's why companies are in business - but things are out of control here.

Yer your right, i think the tax is about 80% of the cost of the fuel here in the UK, welcome to rip-off Britain. The UK Gov makes about £48 billion thats pounds not dollars from the UK motorists and wastes all of it.
