Cooling problem with my Transmission
I was sitting in some pretty heavy traffic due to some constuction and was watching the engine temp climb a little as I figured it would do. It was about 15 minutes before I could get going again, once i was able to move out of there the transmission started slipping pretty bad. I feathered it some just to get out of that area and it did get a little better in the other gears , but still slipped in the 1-2 shift. My question is why would the transmission fluid get that hot in that short of time. Also Do any of you have any suggestions as to how I can fix this ?

You would be surprised how hot the transmission fluid will get with the engine idling, transmission in gear , and not moving. The TC will constantly be making heat, and there is almost no air flow across the cooler , the engine temps will be hotter for the same reason, and that will not help the heat exchanger cool the transmission fluid either.
There are a couple ways to "fix" the problem, you could add an under bed transmission cooler with an electric fan on it, or just put the transmission in N ( not park , as it does not pump fluid in park) when your not moving.
