Kubota does make their own diesel engines. They are pretty good one too. I have a Kubota mower that has 6500 hours of all full throtle mowing on it, with no major repairs or problems out of the engine. Still running strong too.

I got mine home two days ago, and yesterday put it thru its paces moving dirt and pushed down an 8 inch Elm tree....
I gotta say that so far I am impressed. Its a little oh...cruder? or rougher built than the JD's and such I looked at, but I am happy with it.
Parts availibility was a concern, so before I purchased I searched for a parts dealer, there are 5 in the state of KS, and I can order parts online direct from the factory if I needed to....
Guess i am defending my purchase as well as the tractor, but I am happy with my decision so far....
and for a 60 horsepower with a loader, it was lower priced than any comparable model I found.

You'll be fine until:
A. You need major parts...which isn't too bad, cause there are junk tractors laying around somewhere.
or B. You need major service...gotta find somone arounf that knows enough about them to fix it.

But a Belarus IS a good tractor until something happens, then it depends

Well, I deceided. I am not paying for a name. John Deere, Kubota. Just not going to do it. I am getting the Mahindra. I can get all the attachments that I would want for the price on a Kubota (14500). The Mahindra also has a 3 year warranty and the dealer is local. Haven't even signed the paper work and the tractor will be at my house tonight. Gotta love good service. Talked with the mechanic. Very few repairs done. Have several in the area with over 2000 hours and being beat to death. Have only done scheduled maint. So decisions made. If it is a junker believe me everyone on here will know.

I have a Kubota B7800 30 horsepower, with front end loader 60" mid mount mower, 5' rototiller and 5' blade. I built a house on 5 acres and have used it for a year without any problems. It is a great tractor. I will buy another one in the future.

Mahindra's are pretty good tractors, and if you take care of it it should last you a long long time.

Did you know that the company that sells the most tractors per year WORLD WIDE is Mahindra? That is, it was last time i checked...

I think I read where they have a huge presence in South Africa? I looked at them (briefly), I was scared off by not having a dealer nearby for support.
Good Luck with your new toy. I spent just over $20K when I bought my New Holland in 2004. I'm sure you're getting off cheaper than that.

Sorry...not a chance!!! New Holland/Case are #1, Massey Ferguson is #2. Massey was #1 for 36 years in a row before Fiat bought Case IH and New Holland and merged them into one. Then they took the lead!

Mahindra is fine as long as you're planning on keeping it. I have people that come in once a month with a Mahindra to trade in, but I just can't give them what they owe on their tractor HOPING I can resell it. It's not worth the risk!

Make sure to keep us updated, I hope you enjoy it. Also, good luck...That never hurts either

I have a friend who bought a 35hp Mahindra last year and loves it. He says he can out pull my 35hp Deere because it heavier. Dunno about that.

About a year ago i read that when you combine the total sales of tractors (all sizes) world wide Mahindra had the most total sales.

I'd be interested in the addy to where i can see where that has changed. I'm NOT saying you are wrong, i'd just like to see the updated info if you could please post the addy to it...

I have a John Deere but since you don't want to go there .... I have 3 neighbors that have Kubotas and absolutely love them. You are right on in wanting a 4x4!

One suggestion I would make is to shop locally and then do some shopping in farm country. You might be very pleasantly surprised at the price differential between the city dealers and rural dealers! Saved over $3k when I bought mine doing that.
