to buy or not
Well I'm switching from Ford to Dodge. Here's my question. I'm looking at a 08 2500 4x4 mega cab STS, diesel 6.7 with 15k miles on it. It was a "buy back" truck because the 1st onwer just drove it around town and it never would get to the "regen" state and it kept turning on lights and they kept taking it back to the dealer. The dealer says the Dodge has replace the exhaust system and the computer and now all is well. Does this sound reasonable or is it all smoke and BS. They're asking 35k and say they'll do better. What do you think? Thanks for your in put .

$35K for 15K miles? Pass. There are deals to be had under $30K for a new truck right now. Keep looking. Deals are out there and they will get better as the economy continues to drop. Not many people willing to drop the coin on a new vehicle right now uncertain they have a job tomorrow.

A buddy just bought a new 09 Mega, 49k sticker for $35k, no haggling (don't know what eh got for his trade though).
I bought my '07 for $30k w/ 10k mi on it a year ago, right before the diesel prices went waaay up. $5k in extras on the truck too.
I'd say $30k if it wasn't a buyback, less because it is a buyback.
I know 2 guys w/ 08's that baby the he!! out of them, don' tow anything and have had no dpf problems. I'd say the truck was/is a lemon.
DOdge won't just buy back a truck that easy. I had an '01 that went thru 3 rer axle assemblies in the first few thou miles and Dodge told me to pack sand on the buyback thing.
