EXACTLY what I was about to post. If I were the hauncho's at Navistar and I were forced to produce for someone, you can bet I'd be more than a bit miffed. I'm pretty sure my quality would suffer. The timing sounds about right, for the court ordered engines. What lunacy will Ford do next?

And even more disturbing, what Ford lunacy are lunatics going to part with 50 G's for next? Holy crap! A $50,000 house in a crack-hood is a much better investment!

Hmmmm.....Test Drives....

That Ford thread got me thinking about test drives. If the guy had such good luck with all his other f**ds, why bother? Yes, I realize he just spent over $50k on a new truck , and it had better be decent, but really- I didn't test drive mine. In fact, I had never driven a 3rd Gen CTD before I drove mine home! I knew what I wanted, found a great price ($28k), worked the deal over the internet (dealer is 2 hours away) had a friend drop me off at the dealership and the first time I ever drove it was when I hopped in to drive it home. Maybe the most wonderful drive of my life . So am I an idiot for rolling the dice? (please don't answer that, it's only a figure of speech). I figured if something went wrong I'd take it back and get it fixed I guess.

Never drove mine either. Dealer found what I wanted, had it brought from another lot, I had it paid for before I had even sat in it. Kinda dumb when I thought about it, but I knew what I wanted and its not like problems are found on the test drive...most of the time!

I've got both of you beat. I bought my truck and Beetle off EBAY without seeing or driving them. Now that's nuts but so far so good.

It wasn't out of fuel. Truck stop not 100 yards away. I saw no one in the truck or around the truck. I didn't want to walk up beside it because it might of shot flames out the back and caught me on fire. So I respectfully declined to stop. It was gone today.

What is wrong with these people "And consider this, by ordering a new truck, you'll be amoung the few who can say they've had 2 new 6.4's this year!" Wow thats something to be proud of.... what a turd.

Who's to say his second one will be right? Maybe the first was a Monday truck and the second one still could be a Friday truck?? How many times do you hit your finger with a hammer while driving a nail before you learn??

It appears if you are a ford driver you must hit all ten fingers first

He said he has so much confidence in FMC that they will get this one right.

I think we have to admit, that is some great confidence.
We don't want a guy like that in a Dodge, cause the first time he has to change a tire he will blame DC.

MY buddy had the first Ford 6.4 in western Oklahoma he drove it 2 weeks and traded it for a dodge with a 5.9 . He has has fords for about 15 years. Last year they used him and his sicko for and add campaign. The dealer is still crying.
