bosh ve pump. 89 vw golf n/a diesel

was wondering if i can get a little help. seal was leak. removed top portion that houses the throttle shaft. well my buddy did for me when i was at work. now the car barely idles and wont rev up. called around and people were telling me that the spring was incorrectly installed.

anybody have any diagrams or pictures of the pump that can help me out?

Hmm , this sounds familiar , I have a friend with 1990 Golf NA diesel , and about every 6 months it will start acting up , all it will do is idle, it will not rev up any.

Our fix this far has been to put a reman IP on it , is there another fix?

The original poster's problem is that the throttle lever is not indexed properly to the shaft. Pull the lever off, rotate the shaft counter-clockwise 1 spline, and try again. When it idles normal with the idle screw set where you had it before, you have it right.
