BHAF on a Dmax

Hey yall. Just wondering if the BHAF for our trucks would fit on the Dmax's. I'm curious because my mom needs a new intake on her truck and she doesn't feel like spending $200 for one and I won't let her do the K&N drop in. Thanks for the help yall.

I don't think there is room in there for the filter.

My wifes cousin has a Duramax. It is quite crammed underneath the hood. A BHAF would be a real tight fit, if it would fit at all.

Just cut the metal grate off and cut some out of the filter and put the metal grate back on and there ya go. j/k

I also doubt it will fit cause they compartment is so crammed. Thats why i dont like to work on Dmax's.

Sean, you know me. I'll make it work. Where there's a will there's a way. Or maybe it's, if there's alcohol, there's a way?

A BHAF fits in the stock air box location just as good, if not better, than the stock air box. It clamps right up to the stock piping and everything. Now I just got to figure out a way to remove the anti tamper torx bit from the mass air meter and transfer that over to the new setup. I hate anti tamper torx bits. Yall think chevy would sell the bit? They've got to. I'll try and get pics of it later on once I get everything finished.

Good geeky computer stores often have anti-tamper bit sets. I've also had good luck with knocking out the stupid anti tamper pin out with a hammer and a punch.

It's the BHAF from Napa. That's about the best I can do. It actually looks kind of small in there. I doubt you'd really even notice it. It fits perfect. I'll try some computer stores. Are you talking stores like Radio Shack? Or more like Comp USA? I was thinking bout taking a dremel and just cutting a notch in it to make it a flat head. I'd rather not though in case I have to put things back to stock for warranty.

You can get an anti-tamper torx at any supply store, I think.

Instead, just use a center punch to flatten out the dimple.

Smokee, I've been to every hardware store in the great cities of Sugar Land, Rosenberg, Richmond, and Stafford Texas trying to find a anit tamper torx bit. I'll check the yellow pages and see what I find there for computers. If not, I guess the center punch and hammer would work. But I'd really hate doing that around such a delicate piece of equipment.

Hey BB,
Look in yellow pages under architectural hardware suppliers. They carry all kinds of anti-tamper screws and bits for commercial hardware. There is one in southwest houston called Bartley's of Texas or something along that accord. Good luck!!

Try an auto parts store. All of ours in our little town have them.
