Ford has a checkered past when it comes to propaganda...er....commercials.
Remember this gem?
My uncle was on the camera crew, claims the Chevy and Dodge were gutted to lighten them up and of course the ford, as well as the hill, were specially prepped.
Don't believe anything those guys claim.

Well,
One thing for sure is that the Dodge has the biggest brakes of the big three. I believe 14.5 for the front to the Furds 13.75. Would you really enjoy stopping 20,000 plus pounds with those little brakes? The videos looked rigged also. Even with super computers inside of the labs, it is still not as accurate as REAL world testing. That is why Boeing flys their planes over and over ( the 787) thousands of times before they are confident and release them to the airlines. Airplanes as machines have to be perfect, unlike cars and trucks. In the durability video, the last engineer stated "This engine is designed for an easy comfortable 250,000 miles....lol still 100,000 less than the Cummins.

The 4500 and 5500 Dodge won't pull xxxx, because it not rated by Dodge correctly. The 3500 will tow more than the 5500 because of the weight difference on paper. That's want the insurance compaines look at.
Dodge needs to make a non commercial version of the 4500 and 5500 so it can be rated correctly. The 6.7 is capable of 850 ft lbs of torque tomorrow morning if they wanted it to be. The 26000lbs CGWR is to keep the CDL out of the cab in the commercial truck while ford rates its trucs at 30 to 34,500lbs CGWR.
As you know the 4500 and 5500 don't have the same HP and Torque rating as
the 3500 plus less weight. Lighter weight as well.
Come on Dodge get off the pot and rate the 4500 and 5500 truck as it should be. It only took 25 years to get a real crew cab back, DAH DaH !!!!

I don't know how anyone can buy that garbage... Unless they have somehow harnessed gravity to work in their favor you tell me how a truck that is 6" taller and weights almost 500# more than my trucks gets better mileage than any diesel engine to date?
The combustion equation has not changed in 100 years so unless they have somehow invented reverse heat exchange, then I call it bunk. If the engine was that efficient, why does it need 2 radiators? Heat lost from their seemingly near perfect combustion process? What ever, I get 21 mpg too at 80kph if It never regens..
And the hill pass was nicely done. I guess the mileage doesn't matter then when you are at 3400 rpm full boost? Really cool...Heheheheh..

I don't know about you but I don't really care about fuel mileage when I am towing and need to pass someone on a two lane.
One thing that I have noticed about every new Dodge cummins that I have owned is that for the first 8-10,000 is that the truck is a gutless fuel sucking hog. But after break-in the power and fuel mileage improvement is incredible. Now I have also had 3 Powerstrokes they really are a different animal power and mileage never improved.
So am I surprised to see the Dodge with the lesser mileage of the 3 the answer is no. A retrial at 15-20K would be very interesting
