Motor oil prices don't jump around like fuel. The price usually changes at the end of the year. Maybe the last time you looked it was 2006?

Warning

I bought 3jugs of Premium Blue in Monticello Utah, on my way to Roswell, NM in Dec. When I got to the Quicklube in roswell and opened the jugs to do the change 2 of the 3 jugs where all lumpy/crystalized (is the only way I could describe them) the fellow doing the change was shocked and said he'd never seen anything like this before and refused to put it in the engine ,,it was pretty lumpy. So we drained the other one out of the engine and had to put in Rotella he had on tap. Currently I'm trying to recoup the $29.00 US I paid for each jug!
Warning check each jug before leaving the store!

The Valvoline quick change place raised the price by a couple of bucks on the PB extreme last time I was in. I just chalked it up to a new year price increase.

The Delo at our local Sams jumped $4 with the new CJ-4 specs now on the shelves. Not sure if that had something to do with it.

I wonder why the difference on the Delo. I recently bought 3 gallons of Rotella T CJ-4 for $8.88 a gallon at walmart. IIRC that was the same price I paid for the other Rotella, before the change to CJ-4.

Yup, I dont know why either, but Ive been checking more often now. It was $51 before and now they have the new stuff on the shelves its $4 more. I should say that was case price actually. So, less then a buck a gallon increase. Still its an increase overall.

I bought some Rotella T last week for $11 a gallon, and they had Valvoline Premium Blue on the shelf for $12 a gallon.

$11.99 a gallon for Premium Blue here in Flint, I bought all of it I could for my uncle back in NY where its $26 a gallon, why this stuff varies so much is beyond me, esp since Rotella T CJ-4 is $9 a gallon in NY and $11 here in MI...

Price difference could be because-- Valvoline Premium Blue 15w40 is much cheaper than Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme Synthetic 5w40
