Rusty, Cool, I just get riled at people demanding political correctness.
Now that I know your demeanor, I'll just verbally spar with you.

Great Big Juan: I purchased my vehicle in July of last year and once every month until February I would pump PEMEX (I am from Sonora Mexico and would go visit mom/dad). I moved back to Mexico in February to help w/ the family business, therefore PEMEX is the only diesel that gets pumped. I change the fuel filter every 5000 miles and have not noticed anything unsual. I think the old C runs better, but it may be the miles I've put on it. Mexico does not refine its products, therefore all gasoline and diesel sold is refined in the The States (I think Texas, but I may be wrong). I think that in two years that's when ULSD will be available, but again I am not sure. Also, if you visit I would advise you to purchase from a PEMEX station that has "QUALI" written on the marquee that displays the prices. This is an additional certification that assures the consumer that pumps are not tempered. I hope I answered your question.

Thanks AZ, I have a place close to the boarder and I thought as long as we have this free trade(NAFTA) thing going us poor folks might as well take advantage of it.

I get out to West Texas several times a year. Have a freined with a Gen 1 that goes to Ojinaga once or twice a month. Diesel there is $1.80 to 1.90/gallon, LSD or just plain d, not sure. Seems to be a better grade than ours, even the LSD. There commerce depends on trucks for the most part, with American(NAFTA?) diesel motors. I suspect it will be a long time before Mexico goes to ULSD. In the mean time, it works well for the 5.9's.
I think the diesel from Mexico is as good or better than what you get here, even the LSD.
Their gasoline, I am not sure. I have heard that it does not have the octane we have, but do not know.
Mexican diesel is one of the last bargans going!

Have a 2000 CTD 4x4 and live on the Border of South Texas; three miles from Mexico, and have been buying Mexican Diesel(Pemex) almost 5 years with no problem and in my travels through Mexico I've seen several refineries, I suspect they make their own. My truck has 160,000+ miles and is still running strong. I have also read that it is some of the best in the world.
