Junk.....now power, If anything go with CNG.

 

I don't think Cummins would be affliated with a loser. LP doesn't have the same mileage or power characteristics that diesel or gasoline provides either, but it's an alternative.

 

Not sure about LNG, but before I retired from a utility I had a 96 Dodge 3500 van that was powered by CNG. It had plenty of power, and the oil was always clean( clean burning natural gas) . I was told by the garage supervisor that CNG was as powerful as 130 octane gasoline. But the down side was fuel capacity. It had 6 large ASTME cylinders underneath it but had a max distance of 110 mi on a full tank( all 6 tanks at 2800psi). And only 1 place to gas up within 80 mi. Great for short trips, and local use but if you had to travel you had a 54 mi point of no return type of existance. ( they would get mad if you needed a tow to get back in to the barn at the end of the day.) As I said great power but not practical.

 

We converted 110 units from LNG to Diesel then to CNG. CNG is working great for us right now, it burns very clean, has great power and works out to around 90 cents a gal. Our LNG trucks were nothing but problems, no power, no mileage, overheating , freeze-ups. The were a nightmare
