Easy to lift the cab unless its 1 of my employers service trucks with 37' manlift on it. Form what the mechanics say. Ford garage clears 2 stalls turns boom sideways, un hooks the billion wires we install for radio, computer, gps, strobes, working lights, pto controls, and what ever else you can think of.
Too top it off every 6.0 they have that i have seen pukes antifreeze from the overflow. Just rotate the trucks in when 1 finished on to the next pile of puke.

Anyone know where the pic is of the red ford where they had the cab lifted to changed the HG, It was on here awhile back. Just want to show him what the dealer might be doing to his poor stroker!!
Head gaskets are a 6.0h-no issue...
A "body - off" service on a Ford SD is not a big deal. They are often removed to replace injectors, ICP valves, and turbos as well. It's about 1.5 - 2 hours as already stated, and all the wiring is on connectors designed to come apart. It's important to remember that on most modern vechiles the cab comes down onto the frame with the front clip, hood and fenders attached after the engine and transmission have been placed upon the frame of the vechile.
You will continue to notice more and more trucks and SUV's with the engine being placed back further under the windshield - and consequentially the "acrobatics" invovled for service work will continue. It's not fun for a tech but the reason is for crush space (deformation) and crash safety. Mechaincs don't typically sue auto companies for making a truck hard to work on, families of dead or injured people involved in a crash with the truck however, do.
