Making the truck a cut-away is Ford's best idea yet, will make working on the engine easier. (Refer to first picture on last page of album)

Awful lot of stuff crammed under that hood.

 

Three words... Over stuffed turkey.

 

So, after looking at these pictures a little closer I have some more comments.

- What's with the plug on the filter minder? Another thing for the ECM to monitor?

- Check out those rocker arms!! They look like they're held in place with plastic clips!

- The compressor wheel on the turbocharger looks tiny.

- How many radiators/heat exchangers are needed up front? Plastic tanked intercooler, radiator, A/C condenser, tranny cooler, oil cooler and 1 more? P/S fluid?

- 1 picture of what looks like the camshaft going into a highly cnc machined plate looks expensive!

- Crazy linkage on the 2nd turbocharger

- Still using glow plugs???

- Tubing rub will likely become an issue in several areas

- The cutaway truck has a massive intake manifold

- No boxed frame

You'd think they would learn after the 6.0 oh no debacle, this new one looks even worse, more electronics, more plumbing, more hardware,.

 

The most common phrase used by future Ferd owners "but at least it's got twin turbos"...

 

I like how the International sticker is almost out of sight. International will prolly like that also!

 

STILL uses glow plugs. After all these years you'd think they'd learn by now.....

 

WAIT a second , you guys speak of an engine , someone want to point me to the picture that clearly illustrates that there is indeed an engine under there?

I think i might apply to be a ford diesel Tech , looks like AWSOME job security.

 

Do the tools that can fix that thing even exist yet?

 

No space what so ever. Gotta love the room our Cummins give us.
