6.4 Powerstoke Help

Hey Guys

Got a cousin of mine who hasnt seen the light yet. Die hard Ford man but Im working on him to convert. He has a 6.4 Powerstroke and wants to do a DPF delete. Im not up to snuff on what it takes to do this. Im guessing a delete pipe and a programmer. Any advice???

I can't answer that one, but the thought does occur for him to go to a PS forum and ask the question.

Look into Spartan tuning, it's the equivalent of the Smarty for a Ford.

Ive seen that mentioned a lot. Seems like a good program. He wants fuel economy and reliability. Kinda looking into the Black Maxx.

Get a cold air intake, dpf delete kit and the spartan tune. 500 hp at the wheels turned up or leave it at stock setting and they are claiming 18-19 mpg and a clean running engine.

I agree with klx650a, the spartan is supposed to be the best for the power stroke. I'm not sure as to what they are doing with the egr on the 6.4 though. it has two coolers, I'm not sure if they are recommending to delete the egr coolers or not. Just some info for you guys that are saying take it to the junkyard, If you have some spare time, make it your local ford dealer and take a drive in the new 6.7 Powerstroke in the 2011 Superduty's. Very Impressive engine. v8 common rail motor that bosch has built the entire fuel system for. Engine is designed and engineered by ford, navistar has nothing to do with it. This is fords last chance for a good diesel, if this flops they're dead in the water. I do know one thing though. I'll keep my CUMMINS!!!! The 6.0 Powerstrokes pay the payment on my dodge every month as i'm a Ford Senior master tech.

X2 with the Spartan. Its not so much the EGR delete thats important, its the DPF delete. Spartan is by far the best tuner to get for the 6.4. Excellent gas mileage as well!!
