3208 Cat in a Chevy!
At one time, Cat made a retrofit kit to mount the 3208 into a full size chevy (we're talkin '70's era).
Deere also did one around the same time. Needless to say, I'm pretty sure that they never got too far past the experimental stages. I'd rather have a 3208 than a 350 GM diesel!!!!

Why not? One piece of junk deserves another. Here's how to do it:
Put the 3208 in the back, then drive (or tow, as appropriate) to the nearest junkyard and park.

Here is one better, put 3208 in back of truck with strong chain, then go to deep part of lake and then back up real fast and let 3208 slide out of back of truck into the lake with the chain fastend to the frame and jump out!!! In jest Rick, Seriously tell him it will never fly {pun}

I used to work for Caterpillar dealer in Peoria, Illinois. We had a customer that installed a 3208 in a 3/4 ton Ford. It was full under the hood. So much so that there was no place for any air filter. He ran it without one. Since he owne a concrete mixer operation he exposed that engine to enough dust to have to have it rebuilt. I cannot remember the weight of the engine but it did have helper springs installed. Would not recommend that engine now as it has always had a history of oil consumption. You get more HP now from a stock ISB than the old 3208 could put out.
