Hello, I just bought my 1st diesel, a 07 Ram 3500 Quad cab,SLT,mineral grey.
I love the power and fuel econemy of this truck! The overhead computer says I'm getting 20 MPG so far. I've only put 1 tank in it, and I got 800 km on that!
My last truck was a 05 Toyota Tacoma, nice truck, but we wanted to buy a travel trailer, and were restricted to a very samll one if I kept the Tacoma.
How long should I let the Diesel warm up for before driving?
Also, how long do you let it idle for? If you are just going to be 5 minutes, let it idle but how long do you have to be gone before you will shut it off?

I let the oil pressure come up then put her in gear, I just don't romp on her until she's up to around 150 degrees. That's summer time of course, Winter is a different animal.

 

you can let diesel's idle for HOURS... that's one of the many perks us smart people have!
