1982 Internation dump truck with cummins

My 82 International dump truck drives and runs great. Today I did a delivery and backed up a steep driveway and dumped my load. When I pulled out the truck had a issue with the idle staying high and not coming down fast enough.....

I was down to 12 gallons of fuel in my 105 gallon tank. I was thinking that the low fuel level may have caused some air to enter the lines when I back up the driveway? Any thoughts on some things to check?

Return spring on throttle is good. Throttle cable is good...... Other than the high idle, truck runs great......

Truck still has high idle after parking the truck. Drove 6 miles from dump spot to my property....

Sounds like air in the fuel system. Fill it up and see if it still does it. I bet it does not.

If the engine is the same vintage of the truck that should have a PT fuels system, common problem is a leaking throttle shaft. Time for a new pump.
