18.4 sec. 1/4 mile time w/ stock 1999
I just have to tell my fellow CUMMINS owners about my experience tonight at Great Bend KS. I finally after 2 years of owning my truck took it to the drag strip. I have drag raced before so its already in my blood I guess. But anyway to tell you about my truck, 1999 24v, 3/4 ton, 4:10's, 4X4, anti-spin diff, quad cab, All stock(NOT FOR LONG), My best time was an 18.40 sec quarter mile time. But heres the highlight of my night. A new FORD powerstroke w/ the NEW diesel w/ truck features very comparable to mine BUT A FORD ran 22.5 sec quarter mile now how funny is that compared to my 18.4 sec. Anyway I just had to tell how much fun I had tonight. If any of you have some good suggestions for starting out in making more horsepower It would be nice to hear from you.
Hmmmm...so, you mean to say that the HP and Torque numbers really DON'T matter??? It doesn't matter that the 6.0 had about 100 HP more than you??? (sarcasm) I know, I know...pretty mouthy for a guy w/ a 7.3 PSD...I bow to the master of all light duty truck torquers: the 5.9 Cummins! And one day, I will own one myself. But not today...and not tomorrow...and who knows when that day will come...
1 used set dd3`s,1 used powermax comp,1 used diablo puck,cut the muffler off,stock exhaust,stock hy35,,and a triple disc and vb from goerends,,,,13.86 @98.9,,,,,,,,1k in motor ,1.5k in tranny,,,,,,,,,and luvin` it
My 2WD ran a 17.53 down in Atlanta (Pictures) when it was bone stock. But I'm lighter and have the 3.55's. I'm not sure if you tried it, but most all of the guys with 4x4's are launching in 4 wheel drive.
I think I cut my ET about .50 after installing just the EZ, I'll have to look for the time slip from the NC strip. But I also started slipping the torque converter then and the track was cold and slick that day. I could light the tires up real good though!
I haven't run since adding the GB TC and VB, but I imagine my times will be even better with a tranny that hooks up.

My best w/ training wheels, 4:10's, stock auto, and an EZ was a 16.97.
w/ a .504 light. .......Banzai launch
Big tip,
Unless you're running slicks, drive around the water pulling up to the line.
