13 sec 1/4 mile times?????????????
with all my mods my performance dealer seems to think that my 8000 lb truck should be in the 13s, ive tried many things and a 14.5 is the best i have seen 94mph, has anyone with equivelant mods run in the 13s, also my altitude is 2500ft.
Lightening Ram,
Have you weighed your truck? Just curious on the exact weight.
Drag racing is all about the short track. What are you 60' times and your 1/8 mile times and mph? When you can launch harder and hook up your 60' times improve and make a huge difference in how fast you get down the track.
Are you still running a stock turbo? If so, what are max EGTs? You may not be moving enough air with for the fuel you have.
You transmission could also be a limiting factor. IF you are not getting the power to the ground or if the trans is slipping then you know you need an upgrade.

Although I still have some fueling/hesitation problems I ran a 13.8 with a .3 reaction time and a 20lb launch this last Wendsday, I am hoping that once I get this fueling figured out I will be in the 12's
You have to put the power to the ground. If you spin off the line it will kill your ETs.
You need to be in the 1.90s @ 60 f. to get into the 13.00s. Slicks if you are 2wd .
The stock tranny and T/C will slip too much to get out of the 14.00s.
If you are not a dually your weight should be 7000 lbs. 450 HP should do it.

I think you're about right with your setup and times. Goody's1Ton has an SO running a TST/EZ stack with a BD Super B (~430hp setup) through a Goerend TC/VB'd 47RE. He's run a best of 14.4 with it, but I think he can still squeeze a little more out of it
Honestly, the combo of a stock tranny and the 285s (to a lesser extent) are what's keeping you from going faster now.

thanks for everyones input, im going to replace the torque and try it again this weekend see if it helps or not, if not i think thats pretty fast for a big truck in 4x4, theres not many cars that can play along.

I must have had a pig... I had 3/4 a tank and with my *** in it, it was at 7800 lbs. I also had only an intake, no muffler and an EZ and I ran a 15.5. My dyno results told me I was at 325/735.
Also, I think this is the frst time I've heard that drag racing is all about the short track. Are you meaning that it's the short game that makes the long run... or it's only up to the 1/8th that matters?
Another hting I've heard quite a bit... dynos don't really show or prove anything. You can have good and bad days on a dyno but it doesn't really show performance as much as a run down the track.

They only come into play in determining a winner in heads up or bracket racing. The ET and MPH on your slip will be the same regardless of whether you cut a .001 r/t or a 5.00 r/t
I had me and a buddy , full tank of fuel , donaldson muffler , airaid intake , and BDDL on extreme, ran 15.22 doing only 10 # boost take off. I am sure if I was launching hard and less fuel and being alone I can get into the 14's but I had a blast being last time I ran the 1/4 mile was in 1978.

It doesn't matter how much power you have if you can't get it to hook up. If you have so much power that you are spinning the tires for the first couple hundred feet then that is useless and time is lost until you can get good traction.
When I mentioned the short track I was referring to improving your 60' times which make a huge difference to you 1/4 mile times.
