12V CTD for school
at work we use fram, luberfiner, or fleetguard, whatever comes in the supply system. i've got a couple of c series with 9k hours on them with no trouble at all, nothing filter or oil related. i wont run it on MY engine, but here, i have little choice.
if i show them the CTD, that will be an engine and skill that is useful for many years to come.
dodgezilla,
Ya sure you betcha, thats vun fine looking engine.
Could not resist that, seein you are in Poulsbo WA.
Realy a nice engine you have for the students to learn on. Way to go.

thanks. 3 weeks ago, it showed up in a crate. I bought it from cummins as a training engine. it had 2 melted pistons, had been left partially dissassembled outside, had rusted up. pistons were stuck in the bores. i had to hone and recrosshatch the cylinders. polish the crank on the lathe. basically just clean up the mess. still have to rebuilt the injectors, gonna need new nozzles though.
so that is where i have gotten it in 3 weeks for a grand total of..............$3300, that is purchase price, shipping, and repair parts.
