12V CTD for school

Since I am a crane mechanic apprentice instructor and believe heavily in hands on training, I approached management about some funds for a diesel for my classroom.

So now I have a 12v with a rotary pump sitting in my office. Bought it from cummins as a training engine. it is completely stripped, some parts are at the paint shop getting polished and powder coated, and 2 new pistons, rings, and main bearings are on order.

So I get paid to constantly dissassemble and play with my new tow. I love my job.

The valve covers, front timing cover, fan hub pulley, compressor housing, exhaust manifold, and lifting brackets are brightly polished. Looks really good and the students are enthusiastic about starting class next quarter.

Talking

Maybe you should teach the kids how to tear down and rebuild a powerjoke. Then the kids could get a job anywhere.

That is awesome. I am applying to be a heavy duty repairman apprentice so maybe one day I will be lucky enough to tear one down (hopefully not my own).

If you wanna give them a true broken engine to fix, leave the Fram on there when you test run the engine.

I'm surprised you didn't think you'd catch serious flak over the filter.
