WVO Source
WVO Source
Does anyone know where I can buy WVO at? I don't want to mess with collecting it. I have heard some people say you can buy filtered and de-watered WVO for around $2 a gallon. I live in Iowa, does anyone know someone around her that sells it? How much does it cost just to by a 55 gallon drum of soybean oil, and who would sell it?
I would contact waste collection companies in your area and any large plants that produce fried products like potato chips and such.
Waste haulers pay something like 40cents a gallon in some places I hear. I dont see why they wouldnt want to sell the stuff for a profit, but who knows. Worth a shot.
Were almost to the point where veggie oil off the shelf is cheaper. its like $6 a gallon.
Also any kind of biodiesel or alternative fuel collectives. Often there are groups like this who will sell filtered oil for a decent price.
Dont forget youll need to filter, dewater and heat this prior to injection or chemically convert it to biodiesel, then dewater and filter.
