Ultra Low Sulfur Gelling?

Is anyone having trouble with this new ultra low sulfur diesel gelling at higher temps than the old fuel? We've had a few nights that were down in the single digits and the highs were high teen, low 20's. I drove my truck for the 1st time in a few days and it gelled on me. My truck has literally never done that before and its sat in sub zero temps for a week before without even being started. I was just curious if anyone was having that problem or maybe I still have some old untreated fuel.

It gets really sub zero here in the Mountains. I treat all my fuel with Power Service from the end of October to Spring. I would 'never' trust what comes out of the pump, no matter who sells it or what they say. I have never had a gel problem on all my trucks at any temperature.

Like I said, i've never had a problem, call me lucky I guess. This totally caught me off gaurd today. Luckily it didnt take a whole lot to get it back going, I went right back home and added some Power Service to it.

My Cummins hasn't gelled, but the mercedes work truck did this past winter in the single digits.

It's been -5 F here and my truck sat for over 24 hours with no Power Serv. Not using it this winter. No problems at all. Winter fuel here is supposed to good for -30 from what I've been told. We'll see. I'm trying it out real time.

I guess thats a possibility. Where might that be located in my 96? Is that where the prefilter screen is?

Last year we had diesels all over the place frozen up.

So far this year things have been better.

I still use PS.

No problems here in Wyoming. All fuels are treated at the transfer stations -from pipeline into delivery tankers. My farm diesel, I treat with two bottles of Power Service.
