So theyre going to still sell the old formulation of diesel for < 2007 vehicles? First Id heard of that. Wonder if it will rise in price 'just because' =/.
I asked a cummins mechanic about what hed heard in regards to the new low sulphur fuels and apparently cummins expects no problems with motors and fuel pumps, additives or not.
Might be a good time to look into biodiesel all the same

I was just reading up on a biodiesel co-op that is in my area. With the added lubricity of biofuels it may be a good idea to go to B20 blend for the P-pump's sake. According to the local bio supplier they are charging $3.50/gallon for B100 at the terminal but they take care of the road taxes (at that price they should). Might have to start blending my own out of the portable fuel tank I keep around.
Something else I picked up reading through their website info - if you brew your own biodiesel you are supposed to render unto Ceasar the appropriate road tax for the amount of biofuel you produce/use. Fines are equivalent to being caught with off-road fuel if they ever catch you. The guvment wants you to pay for using their road.
No free ride in this world, I reckon.

Bio diesel production cost
There was an article in my local paper about a small-time biodiesel maker saying he can do it using wastevegoil for about $.80 a gallon.
Once I get my FP gauge working again, I'm going to try B20. There's a station not too far away.

I havea friend that works for a pipeline company that says he's seen ULSD come through a few times in the pipe. Its alot like kerosene from what i understand, it still has more lubricity than kero but not like regular #2 has now. Until a station near me carries biodiesel i'll just dump in a little more stanadyne or Soy shield additive in my tank.

You'd think these idiots would be adding biodiesel to their crappy ultra low sulfer diesel for more lubricity themselves (B-2 for the money and lubricity is the most bang for the buck) and then making a big deal (and charging more) about that....helping the environment, better fuel for your rig, etc. But they hate the competition so much they'll just ignore it (and maybe it'll go away) and still have the ***** to sell a bunk, sub-grade product like this and then call it "premium diesel".
I haven't purchased much Chevron diesel since buying my truck new in 1993....and I'll try to keep it like that.
