Mexico diesel

I live ninety miles from Del Rio and i go across about every two weeks to fill up. My first trip i tried filling my 45 gallon in bed tank and two 55 gallon drums. they would not let me back across customs with the drums. Customs informed me that your tank has to be mounted to the vehicle and plumbed into your factory tank and cannot exceed 130 additional gallons. i have been going across for about two months and had no problems since i tried to bring the drums across

Thanks for the update rockcrawler. Just when things were working out well it all goes bad. I was empty and found fuel for $4.23, painful but not as bad as $4.69. Hopefully, I can hold out another two weeks and make the the trip again.

Your welcome..

Here is a story of what is going on with the killings in Juarez Mexico. Makes me wounder why I even want to go there for fuel. But at least I do not actually go to Juarez but a small town about 15 miles or so outside the city.

My wife has made me promise not to go over. I have a friend who lives in Juarez.......he is more concerned about me getting hijacked. So between the two, I don't go. Not even across from Santa Teresa. How is the supply? I'm told it's hard to find diesel now. I was told by a guy that it took him going to four stations before he could get fuel. He also crossed at Santa Teresa and drove about 20 miles to the first of the four stations.

No news from me yet. I have a few friends that are waiting a few more days or even a week or two before they try it. I have enough fuel for about 2 weeks myself.

last year in Columbus, 33 miles sout of deming,nm the cartel lined up and gunned down six men in broad daylight with the police watching. the columbian border is now at the mexico/usa border. of course if it weren't for the demand that this country generates, it wouldn't be a problem. supply and demand.

I saw where yesterday in El Paso, some drug related killings, spill over from Juarez?
Here in Houston, prices falling to under $4.00($3.90) on the SE side of town.
I heard from my neighbor in Terlingua, that there is no problem going across for fuel in OJ.
I was going there thus weekend, but will stay here with the storm in the Gulf coming. May have to get the plywood out. I hate hurricanes, especially when the mess with my W. Texas trips. The price of oil is also up today and may get worse, depeneding on where Gustav goes.

Nothing has spilled over yet. They did bring another surviving victim to the county hospital though. I wish this would just end. These drug cartels are not getting any where with all the killings. Scaring people...YES. Getting more control of the traffic to the US... NOT at all.

my understanding of what was the catalyst. two of the drug lords in Palomis where arrested, that left one. the juarez group have been waring to take over the palomis turf. seems like that was when the killing really increased; at least in my area. my construction foreman's 14 year old cousin was executed.
