for those of you who are brewing biodiesel, where are you getting your supply of methanol from and in what quantities???

 

I would like to know also. I have seen that you can get bulk quantities from suppliers like Sunoco Racing fuels etc..... Usually runs about $185-$235 a 55 gallon drum though. I want smaller quantities (wife kind of wierded out about having that much of something poisonous and highly flammable around).

 

Most local farming co-op's that carry chemicals for crop application carry it in 50 gal drums. My relatives had a barrel left over that I have yet to use. Otherwise, you can go with a racing fuel distributor (like VP fuel or Sunoco) etc.

 

what would be considered a farming co-op here in VA??

 

Over $3.00 a gallon in large 300 gallon quanities now as of this week!
