Yes we actually buy peanut oil to make our biodiesel. 300 gallon tote at a time. The price is according to the market though so its usually a little over a buck a gallon.

Thats interesting. Where can you buy a 300 gallon tote of oil? At that price it sounds like used oil? Does it titrate low?

Are you guys using an Appleseed Processor? I am in the process of making one right now. It seems that the price of methanol recently skyrocketed in my area. ( $255.00 for a 50 gal drum)
As far as the tax thing goes, how in the world does uncle sam know how much bio you have made or burned while driving on the highway? To be honest, I pay enough taxes and I am certainly not going to volunteer any more of my hard earned $$$.

Yes. I made one from a 55gal drum. I think we are "suppose" to pay taxes after 400 gals. Dodegechick where do get your oil?

I have heard that you get to make 400 gallons for you personal use per quarter without tax issues.

Thanks, I heard 400 gal/year which seems fairly restrictive. 400 gal/qt makes more since.
