I am afraid no matter how much we unite, we will not put a dent into the oil companies prices. Diesel is not a consumer commodity, I bet 99% of it is used by commercial fleets that pass the cost on to consumers (ourselves) for the increased cost of consumer goods transportation. This is why oil companies figured out, no need to fluctuate diesel prices like they do gasoline, they can make clear cut profit off of diesel any time! Diesel was above gas here for a long time, and diesel prices only go up.
How can you blame them, once you figure out you can get millions with no effort, you wouldn't stop either. Neither will they.

The way your looking at it this is true, not only cut back on your fuel, but cut back on spending. This is were it gets nasty for some people, "well I work hard for a living and I deserve a vacation", I agree 100% with that statement myself, a person does deserve some fun time, but that's excatly what Big Oil is counting on also, why do you think about this time of year fuel oil goes up, their getting ready for that summer travel and we have to be conditioned a few months before the peak travel time so everbody does not freak out all at once when that fuel price jumps. They use every lame excuse in the book to raise those prices and people say well we just have to pay em that's what's in style now. You have to hit the middleman first, middleman being stores counting on your business, motel/hotels thousands of reservations being made counting on your business, (what if all of a sudden all those reservations were cancelled and the reason given was fuel prices are just to dang high for me to travel this year, maybe next year thanks "click", again not talking just a few but masses of people cancelling. Who do you think those motel/hotel owners are going to go screaming at you or Big Oil. Same goes for stores we all know fuel cost (surcharges) are past on to the consumer, but if things are not moving store owners are going to be screaming at who. Again reason given fuel prices are just to dang high for me to purchase that new tv,ipod, etc weather your just making it paycheck to paycheck or your rolling in the dough, do I really need that item right now, that money will not burn up in your pocket at all. This of course does not included your basics you normally buy food, hygiene products, etc.Paul this is in no way a attack on your post or you this is one way people could unite together and maybe make some impact, but I don't see it happening because most people like to let the other guy suffer instead of suffering a little himself.

Thumbs up Yes Tony t Right on!!!

If more people would think like Tony and not swollow what the media and the oil corps feed you this can be fixed. To many whine and cry but won't step up and do anything. How did unions gain there massive strength??????????
How did this great country start out????? Did we put up with the what the redcoats were doing no we threw them out. If our forfathers were here they would be very dissapointed and likely take us out behind the shed and give us a little education.. They were very smart people when they set things up on paper the way they did straight forward simple and very effective.
So we may have to give up a little luxury and be uncomfortable for a little while big deal the results would be well worth it.
I bet 2 weekends in a row of no travel and no fuel purchases here at the start of the season would get some big attention real quick - but everyone would half to participate including truckers and all non manditory services other than police/fire/medical of course.
The high cost of diesel is affecting most everything we eat, buy ,and do.
I am ready are YOU???????

couple weeks ago diesel was 256. first of this week it jumped .13, then today i got it the CHEAPEST at 2.79 at the loves on canyon e-way. walmart had it for a dime more, and shell (as always) wanted another dime on top of that. diesel fluctuates every time gas does which is a crock, cuz there are far far far fewer diesel trucks than there are gassers.

as much as uniting together sounds great and worthy of an epic movie, its just not happening. ill for sure be in this section a bit more more reading up on WVO and WMO, maybe even some home brewed bio. the problem with boycotting the oil co's is that while we may not buy anything for a 2 week span, they know right before that, or right after that, youll be fueling up. i can go 2 weeks on my bike, and more than a month on my truck cuz i dont drive it that much. sure, i could join in this "2 weeks of buying" but i do it anyways. and what trucker is gonna risk getting fired or not putting food on the talble cuz he told his boss he wasnt moving his rig to make a statement. the only statement that will be made is "sure, we can protest against you, but after its done we will go right back to using your product" we didnt need british rule or anything they provided. we could get around, go to work, etc etc with none of their meddling. fuel, wheather its yours of the city transports..is an intergral part of how the world works...at least over here.

thank god i have my motorcycle otherwise id be boned!

Yeah, I agree man. Fuel prices make me everytime I fill up.
The difference between those two prices though is only $5.60 on a 35gal. tank.
Oh btw....today #2 is $2.97 and RUG is $2.78
