I was just at a seminar about the new regulations with diesel emissions and also the next stage of ultra low sulfur diesel that will be required for 2007. The consensus was that the price of diesel will increase at least 30-50 cents a gallon due to the new additive package that will be necessary and the labor to blend it.

I don't forsee ANY fuel prices going down lower than we have right now regardless if it is gasoline or diesel. JMO

Anyone want to make a long term wager on that?

I bought my truck about 4 months before Diesel mysteriously became more valuable than 87 octane. (Oct. 2004).

I don't see ANYthing going down in price, that would be fair to the consumer!

I read this article in the January issue of Overdrive. Right on the cover says "Feds forecast declining diesel prices". Don't know if they'll be right but I sure hope so. They show a graph with prices ant about 2.10-2.15 for next year and about 1.95-2.00 in about 3-4 years. C'mon, think positive.

Guess they didn't mention Gas, did they? Gas has got to rise past diesel sometime in the future, that whole situation still makes no sense to me?

Would we all love to look like the smart guys, getting better mileage AND paying less per gallon again?

Yet another annoying aspect of this situation, the huge fluctuations in different regions?
We have been steady between like $2.30 and $2.45 since about November. I'm always surprised to hear these huge swings in price??
