Burning OLD WMO???
I just fell upon about 60 gallons of wmo in a tank thats been accumulating for about 25 years. It's all conventional and only motor oil, nothing else. Is this ok to burn in small quanities? After being run through a filter and water block of course. What do you all think?
As long as it as filtered and any and all water is removed, run it and dont look back.
60gal?
If i had 60 gal of WMO, Id run 5gal per tank....12 tanks.
Diesel is...ballpark figure...3.50per gal...$210 you'd save. Go for it.
Hope my math is right htere....just got back from the bar

For sure you need to filter it and dewater it. Depending on if you want to set up for doing this all the time or just this one barrel dictates on what you do to use it as you could easily spend $200 on a filter and dewatering equipment.

Just filter it well through a good water seperator & depending on how cold your temps are will determine how high a % you can run.
I use a baldwin bf1212 filter with a water seperator & drain 2 micron.
Yeah, but I'm talking about oil thats been sitting for 25 years. Is it still ok?
25 more years is a drop in the 60 gallon bucket.
