Bad Flying J fuel

I just read a post by vegasmax at hotshothauling.com about having his filters plug up after fueling at Flying J . Getting on the CB he learned this is a very common problem with Flying J recently.

Slightly off topic

I had Flying J replace the fuel pump in my wife's (GM) car awhile back because they admitted to letting some diesel contaminate their gas (I know, I know, the reader's of this site probably wouldn't consider diesel a "contaminate" ). They have a reputation for lousy fuel around these parts. At least they were honest about it, issued a press release and paid my bill.

Fuel has jumped $0.32 /litre in the past 8 days. Guess travel plans will be cut back a bit.

Flying J is the only place I fuel up because it has given me the best performance, and mileage. No problems from my local Flying J.

I'm in El Paso too. The best fuel I've gotten is at the Crossroads Chevron- on the corner of Mesa and Doniphan. Yeah it's expensive, but I could tell the difference big time in my 2002. Now I live on the eastside so I fill up at the truckstops in Horizon.

Flying J is great here on the south east coast. Always clean, and always fresh fuel. Best price on the east coast is columbia S.C.. Also Brunswick Ga.

I had water in my 100 gallons gas tank I use to fill my airplane. Not good. It came from a brand new BP station where the manager pulled the filters (and didn't replacement them) because they were clogged and not letting fuel through. Needless to say he is back at Burger King.

Yeah, but there you never know how much water you're getting. Pemex is still cheaper than the cheapest FJ and it's the only station in the country.
