Will it work, I need to jump on this deal!

Well It isn't THAT bad,,, but honestly I think he's asking too much.... That thing will take a LOT of work to get back on the road, let alone interior parts/drivetrain + there will be countless pitfalls and "gotchas" I would think.. I considered it seriously as well. I just am not set up for a huge project like that. and well when it is all said and done, you'd have a great rig! I would've almost gone for it if it had an interior that was intact. The good news is that the cab still has a new car smell, and only the carpet and headliner still remains.
Another thing to consider that may be a deal breaker is that in 2010 they're going to do "visual" inspections of smoke and EGR COMPONENTS for ALL diesels in CALIFORNIA 1998 and above!!!!!! being that well , you won't even have the right ENGINE in there... I asked the kid if he knew about this and he gave me some crock of **** saying you could register it with the DMV so they know you have a 5.9 in there... and you can tell the cop that when u get pulled over... wellllll
The other thing as far as the EPA is concerned is that it is very illegal to put an engine from an earlier year and put it in a new chassis. they don't seem to mind if you put a common rail in an '89. >.>
And lastly,,,, Those pics were taken when they first picked that rig up, which I don't know when that was, but now the rig is sitting behind that fence, in the side yard covered in pine needles and really really dirty.... it looks great in the pics but prepare to be dissapointed because I was....
The search continues for options in a four door 12V...

it is illegal as far as epa is concerned to go older than the chassie. So you could put a 07 or above engine in the truck, thats it so go by what the door says. NOW if you want to put the BODY on the old truck thats ok. Yeah i dont get it.
