DJ, its more of the paint is just baked off. My dually spent its whole life in TX. The original owner had the roof and hood repainted but didnt redo the rest. I wish they would have.

Well some final updates. Last Friday I had the front end aligned. I installed my adjustable overloads, a factory Mopar roll bar/with oem padding and covers, and a couple decals and rams head on the hood. Also since the overloads were adjustable I added about 2" in height and then added 30lbs of air in my kelderman front air ride to even it out. IT RIDES LIKE A CLOUD Other than a leaking dipstick tube which I ordered and picked up today and hope to install in the morning if there is no rain its about done. Thanks to everyone for thier help along the way. Many sources of for parts and info. I love this site

Nice, hard to find addition!
I picked one of the '81-'93 ones up a while back.
I dunno' what I'll do with it, since I no longer have an RC to put it in, but I wasn't letting it get scrapped.

Nice to see you're enjoying it and I'll say this much, the air ride WILL save your back!

Mark.

Mark I lucked out with this roll bar. Not only on it but the factory mopar cover. Its stamp with the pentstar all over the backside. Not one part number though?? I bought them both from a member of RCcentral.com. He was a diehard RC guy and never had seen one with a cover. I had to beg him for it as he said he really wanted to use it but his 90 RC had Crimson interior. Most people dont realize that the first gen RC's had a different floor pan and different roll bar. I love the air bags. I WANT A SETUP ON MY DUALLY NOW
As much as I like the Lund visor I wish it was a regular one. I would love to through a factory set of first gen cab lights on it. I love the look of the factory lights. I bought another visor but I dont want to mess with painting it. So unless I find a matching red regular visor its staying on.
Mark thank you with all the help.

Devil as clean as yours is has me jealous. There is a totally rust free and very clean red Canyon sport in the next town North of me still with its 1/2ton drivetrain and 318mag. They want $12k for it and I wish mine was that clean as well. But you have nothing to be jealous over. I wish sometimes now I started with a clean first gen RC so I could remove the top. All well.

Great Job, FT.

Love the hubcaps

If you had one thing you could say was the "most difficult part" of the swap, what would that be ?

I mean something you had to do... and not money or rain or ....

Install the tranny and T-case by myself. The hardest to figure out would probably be the little jumper harness to go from the diesel dash harness to the RC interior harness. Not that hard but took some time with the old schematics from the dealer shop manual. Most dont realize but things as simple as the dash map light. RC's in this year didnt have one. They had an overhead map light. Well mine has both. The only thing I lost with my conversion is the rear window defroster. Trucks dash harness doesnt have the provisions for it. Not big deal to me as on my other RC I never used it once in 6yrs anyways.

The problem with the VE in the non I/C pump to use a 1992-93 engine harness was a tough one but with the help of Mark Nixon (super nice member who is also VERY knowledgeable) it was worked out quickly. Sorry Mark if other members find out how knowledgeable you are and try and pick your brain as I did.
