cummins to a 545RFE?

Just curious of a few things on a 2005 3rd gen 1500. thinking of dumping the 4.7L ( hold your comments about them) will the 5 speed automatic 545RFE?? currently in the truck bolt to a 6BT/4BT? electronic controls??

Thanx , crossy

I doubt the 545 would take the torque.

No, you can pick a fully dressed 545 with converter installed easily off the ground. Light duty. never mind the wrong converter stall speed, adaptor plate, flex plate, lack of aftermarket support etc..

You can increase clutch counts and such in them but I still wouldn't trust it to hold up long. Plus the bellhousing probably wouldn't match too well.

I believe it would bolt using a 727 adaptor, but the 545RFE is the weak link with a hemi and no way would it stand up for a diesel. Plus there are no stand alone controllers available for the trans. I'd us a A518 or 727 which can be used without a TCM.
