273 views and not one response.. im trying to do essentially the same thing, there are alot of small things that you need to do. different radiators, fuel tank fuel, fuel lines, battery location... unless you want to spend about 12k on parts that you need to replace, i would suggest finding a wrecked truck of the same year with the 24v in it. I'm wanting to put a 24v CR in my 04 1500 and i need basically the whole front of a wrecked truck. hope this helps a little.

You'd probably be money ahead, just trading in your truck on a cummins. I guarantee you'd be money ahead, if you factor in your time spent doing the swap.

If you buy a wreck of the same year and model, all the parts that you pull of like your original engine and tranny, can be sold. People buy gen 3 hemi's before they even come out of trucks because they put them in the older trucks. 3 grand on a used hemi easy. normally a wreck is anwhere from $500 to $2,000 selling you own engine would easily make up the cost of buying a wreck. and then some. Unless your a god at mechanics and you have your own shop, the swap will take you about a month to do.

The only thing I see is the Cummins weighs about 1300 Lbs, and that isn't going to play well with your front suspension.

Not that it can't be done, but many guys are going to hesitate to open their mouths when they know the basic concept is not such a good idea.

I would look more towards a 4BT swap. Check out 4BTswaps.com.......

except 4bt's only have about 200hp. its just as easy to put a 6bt in as it is a 4bt. the downside to the 4bt is it has no intercooler and half the horsepower of the 6bt. the 6bt also only weighs about 150lbs more...

I have done a lot of work on a 03 hemi street truck and the PCM is always the problem to make everything work. AS stated taking the ECM and harness out of a donor would be a good way to go. I would also talk with Painless wiring about a custom harness to match the new ECM up with the rest of the truck. Robbing a donor would be the most straight forward approach. It will never be truly legal emissions wise.
