Just found an 85 4 door long bed 2wd dodge not very far from the house for cheap. I have a rotted out 89 red cab 2wd cummins 727 truck.
Crew cab is 1 ton 8 lug 2wd with 360/727 runs/drives.

If I bolt my cummins engine/trans into the crew cab...How would the trans work? Since its a 727 to 727 swap will everything bolt up? Or are the lengths different? Basically can I use the trans cross member and drive shaft?

crossmembers need to be modified..

I built an extension for mine and it worked great.. other wise everything bolts up

I did this swap to a 1972 crew with 360/727 and the Diesel Transmission bolted right to the gasser trans crossmember, and the lengths were the same. You can use the same LENGTH driveline but remember you have 1410 yokes for the diesel trans output and D70 input... not sure what the weak gasser 1 ton had. maybe 1350 ?
