turbo question

I have a 97 dodge with twin turbos on it, and i need to drop down to a single turbo to be able to run in the street diesel class. I have a turbo off of a 8.3L cummins and i was wondering how this turbo would preform any input on this?

I would think that would be a HX 40 and they could make good power in my opinion but i hear the shafts are weak and prone to breaking. Maybe someone else will help also....

I think they used quite a few different turbine housing sizes too.

There are no turbo size rules in the places that i pull as long as you have a single turbocharger. The bottom turbo i already have is an S-400. I just dont know if it will spool up if i were to get a different exhaust housing and run just the S-400.

Just run the s-400 as a single if you have enough fuel

You can spool it with a 12mm pump.. but you might not if it has a large exhaust housing.. Many of the 2.8 pullers are running something in the S400, HT60, HX60 range.. If it was used as a big charger on twins, it probably has a larger exhaust housing.. See if you can find a smaller housing..
