what can i gain by just changing the turbo housing and not the whole turbo?

i dont really understand what the difference is. i want more airflow, but do i really need a whole turbo, or just a housing? i plan on adding injectors to supplement my edge-ez and i can get the temps pretty high as it is now. whats the next step? i have considered a turbo master, but am rethinking the idea and considering a larger turbo. anyone have any ideas?

With just an EZ and injectors (100hp and smaller), a larger turbo will make that truck somewhat of a lag dog.
You better get an Edge Comp and then starting thinking larger turbo.
Or do both at the same time.

If you want cooler temps, stick with a J-hook to shut off your wastegate and a Scotty 2 air filter system.
Also a Larry B turbo heat shield.
This should really lower your egt's by 150 degrees or so.

Housing Change

To my knowledge there are no other turbine housings avaliable for the HY35/9cm that came on your auto. I ran my stock HY for a while but eventually upgraded to an HX35/40 Hybrid with a modified 14cm wastegated exhaust housing. I expected to loose the quick spooling of the HY, but that was not the case. This hybrid spools as fast as the HY and mid to high rpm power is way up and egt's are way down. I have tried some different variations of this turbo since and have been very pleased. It all depends on what power level you are going to, but up to about 400HP this hybrid is my choice. It looks like you tow quite a bit, that is what this turbo was built for, pac or jacobs exhaust brake bolts right in.
