traction, weight, and really low gear. let the other person start spinning then pull them backwards.

The key is traction. Applie your power slowly don't just tromp it and it you can get some wieght in the back of your bed to help with traction. Get something like a d-ring or a clevice to hook to your reese hitch. I've seen recever ***** snap off before while "hooking" and it is not a pretty site to see the ball go flying through the rear window of the other truck. Just beware that tis can be hard on your truck (especially if stock driveline) so be carefull.

buy a 4x8 sheet of 1 inch steel plate and put it under a rubber bed mat in your bed, probably a good 1500 pounds or so, I have no idea what steel weighs.

Try to have your "hook" point higher than your opponents. You will pull "up" on his truck and he will pull "down" on yours.

traction is the biggest problem. spool up a little bit, also. you could also get a big water tank and fill it, water weighs 8 lbs for 1 gallon

Make sure you fill your fuel tank up all the way first!

Your best bet is not to do it at all. You stand a good chance of ruining a nice truck. Of course, if that's your cup of tea, have at it.

I've done it in mud before.

400whp, BALD stock michelins (killed at the burnout contest that I won) vs 70's chevy 1500 w/ built 351 on 35x14" tires in the mud. He lost his rear axle yolk, which broke his front driveshaft, which broke his flexplate.

That method don't always work. My Brother and I was playing around the other night, when we desided to do a little tug. I told him to hold his brake while the truck was in low range, and low gear. When I started to ease into it, I dragged him like he was helping. He has a Ford 2500 Superduty 4X4, extended cab long bed, with 285/75/16" mud tires. To my 2500HD, Crew cab, short bed, 4X4, with 315/70/17" all-terrians. I have a power and torque advantage (But it isn't about that!) I have a Duramax, he has the V-10 gasser.
When we both started about the same time, we both just spun. When I held my brakes, he spun, then I could drag him. (By the way, the strap was a 3"X20' tow strap, so no one had an advange with weight pulling down or disadvantage with the truck being lifted up!) My truck weighs about 400# more then his. (That was last summer when we were traveling, we had them both weighed at a certified Cat scale.) It`s all about traction, and I had more then him.

That`s a really good idea! Spend a grand or more just to have bragging rights!
