Predictions for the 06 season

1) 900 rear wheel HP will happen with a VP44 using Nitrous!

2) 700 HP will happen with a VP44 using Diesel only. Single charger or twins!

3) An F1 powered Pro Street Drag truck will make a strong showing in the goofed up DHRA classes. Its too bad the 9.99 second NHRA rule is in effect for 4x4's.

4) I will finally have my old 12 Valve back on the pavement. With a few improvements! I figured it was a nice gesture to let a few have their day in the sun the last year or so.

5) The fall of 06: we will get our foot in the door in Sled Pulling in earnest, then push it wide open, very quickly.

Life is good,

Don~

There will be several Cummins, and even a few Duramax equiped full size (6200# or more) trucks running 10`s in the 1/4 mile. I think No-Limit will have the Chevy in the low to mid 10`s. And there will be a Dodge or two (Once again full size 6200# +) in the high 9`s.

The 11.57 sec run from the 6.0L Powerstroke is nice, but at a very light weight of about 5,000# it had better be in the mid 11`s. If I took 2000-2200 pounds from my truck, it would run 12`s with a stock tranny, and 400 rwhp. MAYBE!

Don, didn't you post something similar last year about a gen 3 in the 700hp range soon? We are still waiting.

Look out EEP, Haisley, and Scheids you better start doing your homework. Looks like there is going to be some new comp for 06" in the sled pulling world next year.

So Don are you looking at getting into the street class on a competitive and regular basis? Last year you said you would be into the superstreet by now??

Even with your highest horsepower truck your only about half way there (For the MOD class type of horsepower), and thats with NITROUS!

Good luck, I wish you the best!!

Scheids, EEP and Haisley's better watch out!

Bring that ole' 12 V of yours to have its day in the sun @ IRP 2006 see how it does against the ole' Sled.

Are we talking the same HP the Scheid dragster makes? LOL. I read it was second behind Kent in the HP department in all the land, but that was from the usual sycophants that troll around.

See, the trouble with knowing weight and 1/4 mile times is we all have calcs to tell us HP from that. They took it all the way to California to run but, elected to not race it against Bentz. LOL.

The best, after a few years of work, dollars in the range of what a large house would cost in the mid-west was a low 8 second run. Well unless you are not paying atttention, the dragster is not even making 1000.

I hear tell that Dan refused to run Bentz in Cali. Thats funny. Especially after loading it up and carrying it all the way to Cali.

It is close, but nothing is released until it is complete and tested, unlike most other vendors who need to release patches, etc after the fact. 650 HP so far on a single turbo. Backed up by another single over 600. Two different dynos and trucks. The spring will be a good time for the CR engine owners that want to make more HP.

Notice I left plenty out for the next year in the prediction department. There is plenty more.

Don,
Someday you might have your own MOD puller or dragster.
But for now you can only dream of having something of that caliber.

Watch this video and dream.....

That 20 HP injector will stomp anything you can get your hands on too. LOL. Just a few weeks back, we replaced some big ol EDM injectors from the Mid West. The owner could not break 550 HP with. The little bitty 40 Horse injectors from Texas kicked that up to 610.

Back to the drawing board at TS performance for you Joe. You are still the cheif engineer for them right? BTW, did you guys ever break 600 with the CR engine. Ooops!

Thats funny. Now, how much HP did you calc the Scheid Dragster had? LOL. It is NOT 1700 like was floated in a trial ballon a few months back.

Low 8 seconds. LOL COMP runs that fast and it is not in a dragster.

Uhh I think that one has already taken place....

"Midwest does not have 1000hp"
"revving to 5000 rpm's is useless"

Memories...

Don,
On another note, if you want to argue about the dragster go ahead.
Everyone knows it is slower than bentz's at this point.

The point is NOT that it is slower than the Bentz rail. That matters little. Scotts dragster is a low HP unit. Typical P pump and mild twins bolted to a 24 Valve engine. No real big HP surprise there.

The point is and let me type it clearly-the HP is easily calculated by the performance if you know weight and trap speed or weight and MPH when the clock is finished.

We have all the data needed to "know" the HP.

One simply cant successfully transmit a myth to drag racers when the variables are known. Old drag racers know you never tell the weight, unless you have to of course.

I guess in the end and on the internet we must respect one anothers delusions. And I do try and do this, even Joe Servos.

Now, could you tell me the HP of the Scheid dragster. An estimate maybe?

I'd think that the folks you mentioned have already done a great deal of homework to get to where they are.

But Don strikes me as the type to not just do his homework, but get extra tutoring. (Don has the Sylvan advantage, lol).

I dont know the answer to your question don.
I have no idea how they set the engine up to run in that thing other than exterior stuff.

So how much HP is the truck in the video don?

I used a weight of 2500 and a 1/4 mile time of 8.3.

I dont know the specifics to the unit, but they are close.

Most calculations come out to 840 HP.
