Solostyle I will be back to the track. I dont run the track much because I'm afraid and cant afford to break the tranny. I will run at the track as soon as I get more done to the truck. Your on 2-3 trannys from the strip and 0 from the sled why you feel the track breaks less I'll never figure out.

This thread was highjacked by solostyle now I taking it back.

Back to our 25,000 lbs toy sled. I called the owner to find out the weight. Our sled weighs 47,000 lbs and he has more weight to put in it if needed. There are heavier sleds for the national tractor events.

I have seen more carnage from drag racing than sled pulling but if you do either long enough or get serious enough... YOU Will Break Something!!! I have been lucky not to have anything broken after 7 Hooks, but I know my time will come. thats why I picked up a "beater" to beat-on!

I've seen more awesome carnage from HD's pulling than racing, however there aren't as many racers as pullers me thinks.

anyone can hook any stock truck to sled and mash the pedal so its easier to pull...not that thats how its done but it is by alot of em...

at the drags if yer brkt racing or even trying to go fast its hard to do much in a stock truck. lotta disappointment when ya see how slow yer truck is. in order to post a big number at the track ya gotta be doin some pretty serious werk to go fast.

not takin away from pullin but guys with no clue have signed up and tore up there stuff.

besides at the drags my truck wont get dirty...

First of all I think dieselbeef was drunk and for a moment. Just because it sounded like he was pro drag racing for a slurr it just doesnt make sence. Sorry DB. Yes a truck with less done to it will be slower . A truck with less done to it wont drag the sled as far either. Maybe what he is saying is in drag racing the more you have done to the motor the faster the truck is and in sled pulling the best motor doesnt always win because there is more involved in set up and driving. Get dirtyplease.

just saying for a complete newbie that drag racing doesnt seem like there is as much in it or it is easier. ya dont see hammer wagons drag racing.
ive seen some pretty rough stuff hooked to a sled that would never be on a drag strip even if tech let em.
not knockin either one either way cuz to me a sled pull is almost like a 30 second drag race. against the distance not the timer. lotts seup involved in either one if ya wanna be goosd at it.
both are cool as hell and im fans of both so i aint knockin ...

i wasnt drinkin either mike cuz i was at werk so...

U.S. street nationals this weekend. come on out..th weather will be awesome in bradenton

Wow. Cool. Aren't you glad they measures that down to the thousandths of a second, and MPH?

Makes me feel pretty good about my 14.3 @ 106 in my flatbed 2wd 6-speed.

I can post some big numbers in my truck! But I think with drag racing you want smaller numbers!?!?

I went north to pull 70,000 lbs.

I went north this week end to a 3 day pull. I pulled Old Ironsides. I got 5 hooks in 3 days. Great sled. Here is some video.
