Greg:

Yes, you are right, the NHRA rule is 11.49. But, our local track has an insurance liability carrier that has raised that "cut-off" from 11.49 to 11.99.
I was told one of the main reasons for that was because they don't have full guard rails all the way down the dragstrip and their "shutdown/braking area"
is pretty short. They are very tight on their rules there too,....things like no riders in the vehicles, helmets required at anything below 13.99 etc. I like the safety concerns and as I have told many of our local crew, they have been real good to all of us "dieselheads!"

Take care.

That sounds pretty similar to IRP's rules. In fact I think a lot of tracks are going to have to look their rules over and change them if they haven't already. There are cars like 03 Cobra's and newer Corvettes that aren't really "built for the track" with very few mods that run in the 11's all day and these guys don't want to put a stinking roll cage in their daily drivers...

There should be a site law against Admins with bragging rights

Nice job!! The best I have in my chapter is 745rwhp streetable 24v. Next you'll be telling me that you made that kind of Hp on #2 only

Judging by what you have already I'm sure it's only a matter of time!

I guessing high 10's if you can hook up!

Yes, that 789 H.P. run was made on #2 diesel. I don't know about getting in the 10's though. Even if I added NOS I think it might be tough. Traction with my truck has been the biggest problem by far.

MAX707:

My truck has an automatic transmission, not a manual. However, my son who goes by "banshee" on this site has hit 12.68 @ 110 MPH with his 2004 Dodge CTD CR and it has the NV5600 6-speed.

Thanks JohnP. Sorry about the mix up. Wow that's still one fast handshaker. Is your son's truck lifted? Would you recommend me running smaller tires when I drag? And if so what size instead of my 35X13.50's. I'm hoping to hit 12's do you think that's possible with my mods even though I'm lifted. Happy New Year!

No problem on the mix-up with the transmissions.

My son has the "RevTek 2" Front Lift" to level his truck out but that is all as far as his suspension modifications. He is running the "B.F. Goodrich Radial All-Terrain" 315/75R/17 tires on his truck.

As far as running smaller tires, you will have to try it and see with your truck.
IMO,....the smaller tires can hurt you on take-off as they will spin easier than the larger diameter tires. My 1996 Dodge CTD is HEAVILY modified and with 265's on it right now I am spinning them all in 4WD High as I leave the line!
If you go to the "Competition Section" and click on the "Jacksonville Video" thread, first post it says "John_P's Video" you will see what I am talking about. Heck,........ here is the link for you:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=OjcEE8uwoP8

If this doesn't work go to what I listed above. I will be changing my tires back to the 285/75R/16's as soon as my 265's wear out. I will look at your signature to see what your truck has modification wise and let you know about the 12's.

By the looks of your signature you should be able to hit the 12's.

Thanks for the response John P. I'm stoked to hear that coming from somebody with your knowledge. It's funny I think I saw you on youtube earlier tonight. if that was you with another red dodge hamering down at like 40-50mph then burning out forever! Your truck is bad . Any happy new year thanks for the info. I'll stick with the 35's for now.
