My buddy has a 98 jeep grand cherokee with the 5.9. All time 4 wheel drive. Its a auto (obvisouly ) and he was wondering if he should put it in 4 hi or 4 low and what gear? i dunno much about jeeps and autos when it comes to pulling. so any advice would be appricitated. Thanks guys

A Grand Cherokee in a truck pull?!?! Well, if he really wants to, he should put his AWD system in low to lock the center diff to make sure 100% torque goes to the front and rear or he will most likely fry the transfercase.....if it has the high lock option, I would skip it as I don't think there will be enough torque put to the ground and there could be a risk of converter damage.

Put it in 4Lo and pull out your wallet He's gonna toast that sorry excuse for a transmission and grenade the transfer case that setup was designed for climbing mountains by itself towing nothing. if he he wants to pull sleds he needs to find a truck.

Actually watch the body closely, you will see the rear half of that thing flex big time since it is a uni-body.... I am sure he will start wheel hopping since he is coil sprung front and rear... but give it a shot (definately 4 low to lock the x-case)....

Darren started it again! Here we go with the Jeep bashing!

Seriously, though....anyone who enters a truck pull with a Jeep needs to have the bolts in their neck tightened!!
