Being Called Out

Alright guys so my buddy has an 02 f250 regualer cab lifted on 35 bfg mts. He's also got an exhaust, intake, and superchip.
Anyway he was over the other day running his mouth to my dad, he just got an 05 2500 quad cab, short bed, auto, stone stock. He said he would pull the dodge all over town, I believe his exact words were I hope you can drive backwards.
Anyway my dad, usually very mature and wise, actually told him he would do it once he gets a few more miles on it.
So anyway my question is do you think he has a chance? What would be the preffered technique for this insanity? Around here they tighten the rope and let both trucks hold it tight with their trannys in gear, no throttle or brakes, just idling in gear. And someone says go and there off, so there is no holding the brakes to build boost and launch.
So what approach should he take? Lo, High, ease into it, floor it? I'm really clueless, this guy already pulled around my 2500 with no problems, so he's not stupid.

A PowerJoke yanked your 96 around with the mods you have in your signature? I would say something isn't right. If your dad is in 4 low and just floors it when they say go he'll drag that PowerJoke.

Personally I wouldn't do it. Too much $$$ to break stuff over something like that. Go to the sled and challenge him for distance.

I dont believe he pulled you.... perhaps you broke traction and he dragged you around cause he waited for you to make that mistake.. You have way more tq down low than that powerstroke does,

Plus with those tires, i bet you anything he had some weight in the bed,

Id say try him again, and the best thing to do is high, DONT GO LOW or ull break somethin, and just build up some boost with the brake and gas, once u have some boost, slowly tighten up and letter rip on him just before he can get a jump on ya and ull drag him

Or another technique is keep at it with him eye for an eye and when he breaks traction, you give her some juice and he is yours too..

I still cant believe with those mods he dragged you, there is just no way... and I can be money with those mods you should be able to drag that 05 around as well..

Tx

I couldn't believe he pulled my 96 either. He didn't have any weight in his bed, or any other tricks. As soon as they said go I just broke traction and he pulled me away, I would throw it up to a mistake on my part rather than a cheating ford.
Like I said before, around here they start the pull with both trucks at idle with no brakes being held so sitting there with some boost built isn't cool. Maybe that's a rule all these ford boys came up with around here because they've seen what happens when a cummins actually gets going.

I think his lift might have something to do with it. If his rear bumper is higher than yours, he will have better leverage. Your truck will pull his rearend down increasing his traction, while your rearend is being pulled up, loosing traction.

I would throw some weights in it and not tell him. You would win for sure. You just broke your tires free and then you were screwed.

That's your issue...when he hooks up to you, he's taking away traction from your rear tires. So you're just relying on your front wheels to provide the traction. But your weight is adding to traction on his rear tires, not to mention that he has a bigger contact patch with his 35s.

If you hook up again you should make sure that the hitches are at the same height to prevent this from happening. Tell your friend that he needs to put on stock tires to make everything fair.

i got called out too, by a "700hp" 96 stroker. He was talkin crap and i said my dmax would lay a longer patch than his, we both put back wheel to back wheel and lite the tires up, i let off the brake and mashed i put down a good 50 footer, he petered out bout 30 ft, so now we r hookin up when i get the Cummins up there this monday. i burn more fuel on start up than he does tryin to burn out.
