Angry I want to rant here for a second...

If you show up at a sled pull with intentions to pull why do show up with out a pulling hitch of some sort. I don't care if its a clevis in a drop receiver, just bring something.

I know everyone can't afford a nice pre-made set up, or have the ability to make an adjustable hitch that can be set to the perfect height etc. but at least show up with something!!!!

I have been to 6 pulls this year and at 5 of them I have lent my hitch out to guys who show up without one at all. 4 of those times I was waiting in the staging lanes sweating bullets trying to find my hitch when I am just 2 trucks away from pulling. And to top it off, most of the time its guys I've NEVER even met that come up to me and ask for it.

If you are going to show up to PULL....have what you need to PULL!!!!!!!!

This is the best question YET! Please someone answer !
I don't care to lend my hitch but then the people drive off to park and then they go talkin to buddies and leave your poor hitch still pinned in their truck WHY?

Sounds like it's time to weld the receiver to the hitch...

Use a locking pin and leave the key at home.

I haven't run into this because it seems like the people that run the pulls I have been to will let almost anything slide. There was one guy there with chains looped between D-rings that were bolted to his bumper, and they hooked the sled to the loops of chain dangling across his rear bumper.

But if someone does ask, I left the key to the hitch lock at home. If you can't come prepared to play the game you can't play.

TJ, its probably difficult at this point, but just say no. The first time is the hardest, then it gets easier.

No good deed goes unpunished.

we are getting to the point where we might stop them from using the rear bumper, its just too dangerous, for some reason, this year, regular cab duramax trucks break hitches badly, ive seen it 3 times on 2 trucks break/bend them, dont know why, they just do, i seen a haisley hitch fail first hand, broke in half, as in, it almost hit me cause i was flagging, had a class 5 receiver almost split completely in half 3 trucks later, the first truck got loose and the guillotine got him, the second truck didnt come loose. alot of guys get "talked" into pulling and its probably their first time and dont have a hitch.

I AGREE!!! You could charge them a fee for it, then they wouldn't ask anymore!

Put a hitch lock on it and "Lose" the Key, problem solved, can't borrow it if it can't come off.
Just my .02$

Seems like a place to take a couple of extra pulling hitches, then when someone asks "I got just the thing for you and I will let you have it at a resonable price".
