I want to rant here for a second...
I went to 2 pulls last year with my 01, and both times I was asked to borrow it. Said no, one guy was like *** dude?!? I simply said, Hey, I came to pull and was prepared. Too bad if you don't have the hitch. The guy wound up borrowing a hitch, and broke his truck. I just laughed.

there was a guy on here that had a nicely built pullin hitch and he wanted like $240 for it. if I had that invested in a hitch it wouldnt be loaned to anyone. then someone would break it and go uh sorry dude. if I pulled I would get a hitch like pourindiesels, it is well made and adjustable
What you can also do is bring a spare junky clevis with you and lend it out with a $20 deposit.
That way if they dont bring it back you have all of your money back plus some extra for a new clevis.
I have too have had to lend out a hitch but I often think back to the days of being a beginner when I would ask others to borrow theirs. They were always nice about it.

I agree, if a person wants to compete they should at least do enough research to know what they need at the bare minimum to pull. In lew of their lack of preparation, they can have either the one word answer
or the two word answer.

or the two word answer.

I made a hitch just like Pourin's MONTHS ago but haven't even used it to sledpull with yet unfortunately. I knew when I was going to go I needed one and with an adjustable hitch it would be a better advantage over just a thrown together clevis thing... Although using it for sledpulling I have not, it sure does nice for pulling tractors unstuck! [cool] I have seen people sell the same hitch I have for $200-$250, that gets me to thinking I should make another and take it to a sledpull to sell for a little less... lol, it would be a good way to pay an entree fee!
It would take some work.. and not really worth your time.. but you could build it to accept 2 1/2 instead of 2in... (I've seen a few, just slide in a piece of thick wall when you need to use a 2in hitch.) or just bolt on what you have instead of using a pin... tell them you are not going to unbolt it..
Ours is bolted behind the bumper, instead of pinned...

Wow man I didn't know it was such a big deal about a receiver, if I would have known how bent you got I would have just used the one I brought. You were already broke that's why I asked sorry man take a pill, even though you didn't know me I was trying to be nice to you my fellow DTR member. You take care and hope you get that beast fixed up and I'll have my own next time trust me.

When I went to my first pull tho, I had my hitch ready to go. Next time I go to a pull I am gonna walk thru the pits and ask somebody if I can borrow their tires, my 35's are too big and i want some 33's so maybe someone will let me borrow their tires
That's cool TJ, I was kinda ready but being my first time I guess I was unprepaired. I had like a 6" drop with a clevis on it,and kinda thought it wasn't as safe as yours. Thanks and take care man.
On the other hand, I've had people ask me if they needed a hitch to pull. That is where I draw the line.
