Horse Power Calculator... Compare your #'s

I heard someone talking about Dyno numbers and 1/4 mile times, and how the HP can be calculated better by using the 1/4 mile info as opposed to the Dyno info. We have all heard different dyno's giving diferent information and some of you think Dyno #'s mean nothing... just put it on the track and the 1/4 mile times dont lie.

Since I dont know how true this is I am going to ask for some help from those of you that have Dyno'ed and Run the quarter mile in your truck! I have never had my truck on a Dyno so I dont know of the numbers I am getting are very acurate! If nothing else this tool is fun to play with...

According to my Edge juice w/Att my 1/4mile time is 14.6 @ 91mph but I dont know how accurate that is either! Just wondering who has Dyno #s they can compare with these ET and MPH calculations. You'll also have to know what you truck weighs.

I wish I could find a local dyno I could believe in.

Josh:

Thanks for posting that link for the Members! I had seen that some time ago but never wrote it down.

Here are my calculations:

My 1996 Dodge CTD weighs 6,824 lbs.
Best E.T. Ever is: 11.52
Best MPH Ever is: 118

Here is what the link said by plugging in my time and MPH:

E.T. : 882 Horespower
SPEED: 875 Horespower

With time slip from DHRA Nationals in Houston 12.71s @ 107.63 race weight 7335lbs.

Using the ET method, I come up with 706 horsepower
Using the Speed method, I come up with 713 horsepower

I WISH! Best dyno numbers were 585hp steady with some spikes to 620hp.

I Had my truck weighed at a DOT scale and it was 8000 w/o anytools and a 1/4 tank.

I made a impromptu pass at the truck and it was all loaded up. I'm pretty sure. Maybe just 8,400...
